COLUMBUS — The Columbus Italian Festival closes out its three-day run today, capping a weekend that drew an estimated 35,000 visitors to celebrate Italian culture in the heart of the city.
The festival, which launched Friday and runs through today, featured the San Giovanni Dancers, limoncello-making demonstrations, bocce tournaments and a lineup of Italian food vendors. The event traces its roots to the early 1980s and has grown into one of central Ohio’s signature fall weekends.
Today’s closing-day schedule gave families one last chance to take in the entertainment, grab a cannoli and browse the vendor booths before the tents come down. Organizers noted strong crowds across all three days, helped by mild October weather and a packed calendar of performances.
The Italian Festival is one of several fall attractions anchoring the Columbus-area calendar this month, alongside pumpkin patches and corn mazes across the region and the Great Westerville Pumpkin Glow’s evening light displays. Visitors still looking for autumn fun have no shortage of options in the weeks ahead.
