Phoenix Phillips, a 24-year-old father from Maryland, has vanished after traveling to Cleveland for last week’s Steelers-Browns Thursday night game, and police describe his disappearance as concerning.

Phillips, who is from Perryville near Baltimore, was last seen Friday, Oct. 2, in downtown Cleveland after getting separated from the person he was with, according to Cleveland police. He is described as 6-foot-1 and about 170 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Family members, working with the nonprofit Cleveland Missing, say the devoted father made the trip specifically for the rivalry matchup. A family advocate told WEWS that Phillips is a loving dad who loves the Steelers, which is why he came to Cleveland for the game.

On Tuesday, a body was pulled from the Cuyahoga River near Jacobs Pavilion, according to Cleveland 19. Officials have not confirmed whether the discovery is connected to Phillips’ case, and police say they are still working to determine what happened after he was separated from his companion.

Cleveland police are asking anyone with information about Phillips’ whereabouts to come forward as the search continues.
