Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth will travel to Dayton on Tuesday as part of the Arsenal of Freedom Tour, visiting SNC and delivering remarks to the company’s workforce, according to tour coverage published Monday.

In Dayton, Hegseth will visit SNC and speak to employees, accompanied by Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink. The Dayton stop is one of two on Tuesday’s itinerary; Hegseth will also travel to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to visit Riverside and deliver remarks alongside Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler.

Dayton-area coverage has described SNC as Dayton’s fastest-growing defense company, part of a defense and aerospace cluster anchored by Wright-Patterson Air Force Base that makes the Miami Valley a regular stop for Pentagon leadership.

The Arsenal of Freedom Tour has taken the secretary to defense workforces around the country, with remarks focused on the workers who build the nation’s weapons and support systems and on speeding up the defense industrial base.

Having the Secretary of the Air Force on the Dayton stop underlines the region’s Air Force ties. Wright-Patterson, just east of Dayton in Greene County, is Ohio’s largest single-site employer and the center of the Air Force’s acquisition work, and contractors across the Miami Valley support its programs.

Workforce remarks of this kind are typically delivered inside the host facility and are aimed at employees rather than the general public. No public event in Dayton was announced alongside the visit in Monday’s coverage.

Tuesday’s visit puts a national spotlight on Dayton’s defense workforce for a day. For SNC employees, it is a chance to hear directly from the Pentagon’s top civilian leader and the Air Force secretary about the work ahead — and for the Miami Valley, another sign of its central place in the country’s defense industry.
